Packing for a Day Trip

Posted by on 6/25/2014

It is summertime and the kids are out of school. If you aren’t lucky enough to have a pool in the backyard or live on the beach, chances are you’ll be making at least one day trip to a beach, lake or community pool.

Being prepared for such a day trip requires planning and packing essentials to ensure everyone has a great time.

You will need sunscreen, sun hat and glasses, water, towels, large blanket or beach mat to lounge on, snacks such as sandwiches, chips and fruit, games, balls, surf or boogie boards, Frisbees or whatever your family prefers. Taking along a large umbrella to provide some shade is a good idea, especially if you have small children.

Pack a book to enjoy while the kids are building sandcastles or resting. Take along a set of warm clothing if you’ll be hanging out after the sun goes down or for the ride home.

Cash, antiseptic cream, antibacterial hand gel and an empty plastic bag for easy cleanup are also must haves – it’s a good idea to be prepared for anything.

Monogramed bags and coolers are a great way to keep all your things together. You don’t want to be carrying an arm-full of items, particularly if you have had a long walk to the spot you wish to settle in for the day. Monograms are especially helpful if you’re with friends, and Monograms, Markings & More offers you colorful selection to choose from.
